Our Success Stories - Your Gifts at Work

We couldn't have done it without you

Here are just a few of the many successful ways philanthropic gifts are being used to benefit our patients and the residents of Lake County:

    Sutter Health Matching Grants

Thanks to you, we met the challenge!

The Sutter Health Capital Matching Grant Program provides access to capital via challenge grants that can only be received if a Sutter Health affiliated hospital meets a specific fundraising goal within a specified period of time.

    • Mobility Park: Thanks to the generosity of our donors in 2011, Sutter Lakeside Hospital Foundation met Sutter Health's matching grant challenge to fundraise $220,000 for a new Mobility Park, where rehabilitation patients of Sutter Lakeside Hospital can work through physical challenges they face in the ‘real world’ in a supervised outdoor environment.
    • Stroke Telemedicine: Sutter Lakeside Hospital Foundation’s goal of raising $78,000 by the end of 2010 was accomplished thanks to the generosity of community members from across Lake County. This total, coupled with a $78,000 matching grant from Sutter Health, allowed the purchase of Stroke Telemedicine equipment, assuring our patients of expert treatment from a team of specialized stroke doctors at Sutter California Pacific Medical Center’s Neuroscience Institute in San Francisco working together with Sutter Lakeside Hospital’s staff.
    • Mobile Health Services Unit: Thanks to the generosity of our community, we achieved our 2008 Sutter Health matching grant goal of raising over $150,000 from individuals, service groups, health care providers and community leaders and purchased the Mobile Health Services Unit, now serving remote areas of Lake County.

Read the inspiring story of Lakeport resident Henry Anderson's lead gift of $10,000 to the Mobile Health Services Unit, generosity that touched an entire community. Watch the video featuring Henry Anderson, to learn more about Sutter Lakeside Hospital, the Foundation and it's goals.

    In the Hospital

Your generous support provided funds to provide the following life-saving medical devices and specialized training for hospital staff:

    • New Equipment: Acquired Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) device to aid recovery after joint surgery.
    • Patient Safety: Received a grant to provide advanced training and best practice protocols for anticoagulation therapy.
    • Prevention: Purchased blood lead screening machine for pediatric patients.

    In the Community

Sutter Lakeside Hospital is commitment in providing high quality medical and wellness care to the residents of Lake County:

    • Women and Children: Served nearly 6,000 children and families with our “Healthy Kids Are Contagious” programs that provide wellness education to all schools in Lake County.
    • Adult Wellness: Provided over 62 scholarships to Create Your Health (Wellness University), Lighten Up Weight Management, and Stress Reduction & Relaxation programs to help at-risk adults take charge of their health.
    • Children's Health: Provided 35 scholarships for Lake County children to attend Camp Watta Watta as part of our campaign to empower children to achieve and maintain good health.
    • Healthy Community: Collaborated with the Health Leadership Network to develop a plan to address childhood obesity in Lake County.

"Because life is precious, we encourage giving to life and a lifetime of giving."

Our community met the 2011 Sutter Matching Grant challenge! Now rehabilitation patients will have a safe Mobility Park to work through "real world" physical challenges.
