Stroke Telemedicine Campaign 2010
We Made It!
Sutter Lakeside Hospital Foundation’s goal of raising $78,000 by the end of 2010 has been accomplished through the generosity of community members from across Lake County. This total, coupled with a $78,000 matching grant from Sutter Health, allows Sutter Lakeside Hospital to purchase Stroke Telemedicine equipment. This vital equipment will make it possible for many of the hospital’s patients to have access to round-the-clock specialty care close to home. By implementing Telestroke technology, patients who arrive at the hospital’s emergency department with acute stroke symptoms will be assured of expert treatment from a team of specialized stroke doctors at Sutter California Pacific Medical Center’s (CPMC) Neuroscience Institute in San Francisco working with Sutter Lakeside Hospital’s physicians and staff.
The Stroke Telemedicine Campaign is yet another testament to the giving spirit of the Lake County community. Sutter Lakeside Hospital is actively collaborating with CPMC and our program team led by Dr. Bruce Deas, Medical Director of Emergency Services, and Cherie Hensley, Chief Nursing Officer, to implement the program in January.
Sutter Lakeside stroke patient Loree Shillinger says, “My husband Rod and I owe so much to Sutter Lakeside Hospital, Sutter CPMC and Dr. Harneet Bath. We have many places to go and things to do. Thanks to the Sutter team, we will do it — and send lots of postcards to family and friends.” Read Loree's story of how she received life-saving care, thanks to Stroke Telemedicine technology.
Thank you to each and every one of our Stroke Telemedicine donors for making this huge improvement in stroke care a reality in Lake County.
"Because life is precious, we encourage giving to life and a lifetime of giving."
