    Family Medicine Clinic

July 2002 marked the opening of Sutter Lakeside Hospital's new Family Medicine Clinic.

    Serving Those In Need

The new clinic consolidates the services previously offered through Women's Practice and Children's Practice into one convenient location. The brand new 15,000 square-foot clinic with 10 exam rooms is located in the new hospital wing.

Keeping Sutter Lakeside's long-standing committment and mission to serve the entire community, the clinic provides health care to pregnant women and children on Medi-Cal and those from low-income families with no health insurance.

A pediatrician, obstetrician, nurse midwife and experienced nurses staff the clinic from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

"We have noticed a significant increase in our patient visits over the last several months, which tells us there is a need for more services and longer hours," said Chief Community Officer Aleta Walker. "To meet that need, we plan to expand our clinic hours, beginning in January 2003, to accommodate patients who need appointments after hours and on weekends."

Walker noted the hospital is currently evaluating the community need for additional Medi-Cal specialty clinics, which would be housed within the Family Medicine Clinic.
