Low-cost digital mammogram service

LAKEPORT, California, September 27, 2011

In recognition of October being National Cancer Awareness Month, Sutter Lakeside Hospital (SLH) is offering low-cost digital mammogram service from October 3rd to 31st.

Mammography is an important part of detecting breast cancer early. This screening test can reveal changes in the breast up to two years before a lump can be felt by a woman or her doctor. Research has shown that annual mammograms can lead to early detection of breast cancers, when they are more easily treatable and curable.

You may qualify for a $75 digital screening mammogram at the SLH Imaging Department. To be eligible, you must meet all of the following criteria:

• You are age 40 or older


• Your mammogram is for routine screening only


• You have not had a recent biopsy or breast surgery


• Your last mammogram was one or more years ago


• You have no health insurance


• You are not breast-feeding

Physician referral is required. Cash payment is expected at the time of service.

This low-cost mammogram offer does not include follow-up care. Your mammogram report will be mailed to your referring physician, or we will refer you to a doctor at the SLH Family Medicine Clinic or the SLH Upper Lake Clinic.

Appointments are now being accepted from October 3rd – 31st, Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 7:00pm. Call the SLH Imaging Department at 262-5030 to make an appointment.
