Emergency Services
The Emergency Department at Sutter Lakeside is a Level IV trauma center and is EDAP certified.
Physicians are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Being close to a recreational lake, a variety of national forest activities, including off-road sports, hiking and camping, require nurses to be prepared for many types of emergencies.
An onsite heliport provides air transportation to and from hard-to reach mountain locations and transports critical patients who require specialized care to trauma centers in nearby cities.
EDAP Certified
Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics
The Emergency Room at Sutter Lakeside Hospital is certified as an Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP).
The EDAP program recognizes that children require specialized medical procedures and equipment that take into account their size and stage of development.
The color coded EDAP system utilizes an approach to care based on a child’s weight and height. Size appropriate medical equipment and medication dosage is then utilized throughout the child’s care.
In addition, Sutter Lakeside employs an EDAP Medical Director, a designated pediatric consultant, and a Pediatric Liaison Nurse (PdLN) to coordinate the program requirements and ensure that the EDAP standards are met at all times.
