Speech Language Pathology
The Speech Language Pathology services evaluate and treat the following disorders:
- Speech problems making the right sounds and being understood because of weakness or poor coordination in the muscles in the lips, tongue, and / or mouth
- Language disorders including difficulty understanding spoken or written material, ability to say and/or write your thoughts and needs.
- Cognition deficits related to acquired neurological conditions like stroke, head injury, concussion, encephalopahty, anoxia, brain tumor, Parkinsons's, etc. This includes: attention, memory, sequencing, whole/part relationships, problem solving, etc.
- Swallowing disorders related to weakness or poor coordination of the lips, tongue, pharynx and esophagus which causes problems swallowing.
