    Balance Program

    Is vertigo, dizziness, or poor balance making you feel seasick? Is it affecting your quality of life? The Balance Program can help.

    Most people with vertigo or balance problems can improve significantly in 4 to 6 weeks without medication. The cost for the program is covered by most insurance with a doctor’s prescription.

    Biofeedback - stress reduction

    Biofeedback is a powerful tool that is used to monitor physical and emotional response to stress. Specifically, it teaches us to control and train certain involuntary body responses, such as brain activity, blood pressure, muscle tension, and heart rate so that we can decrease the negative effects of stress and improve our health and well-being.

    Continence Clinic

    Incontinence, or the loss of urinary control, is a common and distressing problem, which may have a profound impact on your quality of life. Coughing, sneezing or lifting objects can cause involuntary urinary leaking in people of all ages.

    The Continence Clinic can help you:

    The SLH Ergonomics Program is dedicated to preventing workplace injuries.

    Ergonomics is the science related to an individual and his or her work environment. Our experts can evaluate an employee’s work station, write a customized report with recommendations, and develop an exercise program to help prevent injuries for specific tasks or occupations.

    Our well trained Occupational Therapist has advanced practice in the treatment of:

    Speech Language Pathology

    The Speech Language Pathology services evaluate and treat the following disorders:

    • Speech problems making the right sounds and being understood because of weakness or poor coordination in the muscles in the lips, tongue, and / or mouth
    • Language disorders including difficulty understanding spoken or written material, ability to say and/or write your thoughts and needs.
    • Cognition deficits related to acquired neurological conditions like stroke, head injury, concussion, encephalopahty, anoxia, brain tumor, Parkinsons's, etc. This includes: attention, memory, sequencing, whole/part relationships, problem solving, etc.
    • Swallowing disorders related to weakness or poor coordination of the lips, tongue, pharynx and esophagus which causes problems swallowing.

    Therapists at SLH are credentialed in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment of the spine, also known as the McKenzie Method.
